Sound Healing is one of the most ancient healing arts that we now have available to us. For thousands of years, traditional communities have understood the immense healing potential of sound and have thus utilized it in their sacred healing ceremonies and traditions.

Sound can affect us on every level of our being: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. On the physical level, sound has the ability to rearrange molecular structure. As we know, everything in the universe is in a state of vibration; all the various parts of our body are also in a state of vibration; all of the organs, tissues, bones, etc. When we are in a state of health, all of the bodily parts are working and vibrating together in harmony. If one of these parts begins to vibrate at a different rate we will then experience what we call dis-ease. To return to our natural state of health, we can project the correct resonant frequency of sound of the organ or other bodily part back into the body.

On the emotional and mental level, sound is very effective as it affects the limbic system, that aspect of the brain which governs our emotional responses. By sounding specific tones we can help elicit certain emotional responses that may be very therapeutic and transformative in nature.

For the spiritual body, both pure sound and music can be highly effective. Self-created sounds such as mantras, vowel sounds, and intuited melodies are among the most powerful in helping us to grow spiritually.

In my private practice, each session is quite unique and tailored to the specific needs of the patient I am working with. As I assess what areas need attention, I will then sing various sounds with my voice into your body. Using the human voice makes sounding more powerful than any other instrument, for in its vibration, the voice carries consciousness.

At times you may experience an emotional reaction/release such as laughing, crying or grieving while at other times you may experience a physical reaction/release such as temperature changes, muscular relaxation, or even acute sensations of discomfort that quickly dissipate. Other times you may experience a deep sense of being centered and calm.

In addition to the hands-on work that we will do together, we will also examine your beliefs, familial patterns, lifestyle choices and your thoughts so that you can understand how all of these factors are contributing to your current state of health. You will also learn new tools for dealing with stress and your life challenges rather than relying on outdated coping mechanisms that no longer serve you.

This truly holistic approach to healing can be quite a transformative experience. The best way, however, to learn about my work is to experience it for yourself.

Come for a session and be prepared to explore, laugh and even shed a few tears on your way to healing yourself from the inside out!
